  • Responsibilities

    Under the direct supervision of the Operations Manager, the Practice Facilities Monitor monitors front desk operations at the Fordham Road practice facility and other Berklee practice facitilies as needed. The Practice Facilities Monitor also assists with building security policy and procedure adherence, and building maintenance monitoring and reporting. The Practice Facilities Monitor also coordinates equipment repairs with vendors and in general insures the proper functioning of the facility.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Supervise practice sessions to ensure proper use of facilities and equipment, tracking down violations and reporting any disciplinary problems to the Operations Manager.
    • Enforce and adhere to room booking and sign-out procedures including keeping accurate records in the reservation and booking systems.
    • Assisting students with operation of equipment in practice rooms.
    • Coordinate equipment deliveries and movement with other department staff when needed.
    • During semester breaks being available for scheduled on campus maintenance like equipment survey, new equipment installation/removals and other miscellaneous projects

    Required Skills

    • Strong knowledge of commonly used musical equipment (i.e. guitar amps, drum sets, PA equipment).
    • A commitment to excellent customer service.
    • The ability to interact, communicate and work well with others.
    • The ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
    • Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with varying levels of students and staff.

    Required Experience

    • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a music technology facility.
    • Experience with online reservation systems.
