Children's Surgery Program Clinical Coordinator, FT Days
Under the direction of the Associate Administrator Perioperative Services, Coordinator, Children’s Surgery Program provides focused planning, development, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of the pediatric surgical program. The manager plans, organizes, implements, and coordinates daily activities and operations; develops and implements clinical operating policies and procedures; hires, orients, trains, develops and retains competent staff; promotes flow of information between service and key stake holders; directs and ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation agencies; develops, implements and maintains quality assurance programs and quality improvement opportunities.
Required Skills
1. Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and their application to the ACS Children’s Surgical Care verification application.
2. Knowledge of pediatric NSQIP registry/database and application.
3. Knowledge of surgical continuum of care including standards (national/regional), guidelines, and relevant policies/procedures.
4. Proven skills in interpersonal relationships, planning, organizing, and follow-up, budget preparation and monitoring, and management and leadership.
5. Proven skills in developing positive customer relations.
6. Demonstrated ability to set and manage priorities, be a team member and educate others, relate to all levels of the organization, create and motivate behavior changes.
7. Knowledge of process and work flow systems.
8. Communicates effectively both orally and in writing and time-management skills
9. Able to evaluate and present data to other professionals/non-professionals, including Physicians, in a clear concise manner.
10. Proficient in the principles of analytical assessment and creative problem solving.
11. Has knowledge of hospital systems and organizational relationships.
12. Proven experience prioritizing organizational performance improvement efforts.
13. Works effectively in teams or alone.
14. Experienced in group facilitation techniques.
15. Skilled in the use of data management, computer systems and related software applications.
16. Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
17. Ability to interpret clinical data and understand clinical procedures and terminology.
18. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
