Innovation is our key strategy which involves staff-driven change to promote continuous growth and improvement. Weve been implementing changes in our Emergency Department to streamline care which includes new processes in sorting patients for rapid care (not your traditional Fast Track Model). Bedside registration reduces chart and treatment delays, a plus for the busy nurse. We have point-of-care testing available for Troponin, chemistry and hematology, which reduces the time it takes to get a patient to the Cath Lab and improves the quality of care for chest pain patients. We use a computerized patient tracking system which provides visual cues for workflow, reduces the amount of time spent on documentation and streamlines the admission patient processes for our Nursing staff.
