    Bartels will conduct three week training sessions in March. Classes will be held on the Bartels campus and, upon completion of classes and labs, Bartels will assist students in registering with Hawkeye Community College to challenge the test for state certification.

    When: March 3 through March 20, 2025 evenings 4pm to 6:30pm Monday through Thursdays (CLASS FULL) April dates and schedule TBD May dates and schedule TBD Where: Bartels Main Campus classroom Get paid to learn: $13.03 when attending classes Upon completion of the course (Perfect Attendance Required) and successful testing at Hawkeye $18.22 per hour, plus $2.50 shift differential for 2nd shift and $2.00 for 3rd shift.

    Full and Part-time positions will be offered

    Qualifications

    1. Fill out an online application on the Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community website.
    2. An interview will be conducted by a RN and Human Resources.
    3. Classes, labs, and clinical will be held at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community/1922 5th Avenue NW Waverly, IA 50677.
    4. After completion of the Direct Care classes and labs, students will complete a test which must result with passing of a score of 80% or greater. We will assist students in registering with Hawkeye Community College to challenge the test for the Certified Nurse Aide state board certification (this is required and Bartels will pay one time for testing).
    5. Required passing of the testing, both written and clinical, to receive a position as a Certified Nurse Aide.
    6. If a student is unable to pass the test, they will be allowed to apply for open non-certified positions in the facility.
    7. Attendance is extremely important. All classes must be attended to continue in the Direct Care program. Commitment to this program is essential for success and the start to a new career.
