  • Responsibilities

    Evaluation, treatment and management of psychological, emotional, behavioral and developmental conditions in children. Provides child and adolescent patient care in outpatient setting.
    Diagnosis and treatment of mental illness and emotional problems in children and adolescents. Provides leadership participation of the pediatric behavioral clinic. Provides comprehensive consultation and continuity of care services for children and adolescents with mental illnesses.

    Required Experience

    Work Experience

    • Minimum of 3 years related experience and/or training.

    License/Registration/Certification

    • Be licensed to practice Psychology in Texas by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists
    • Current specialty specific cardiopulmonary resuscitation by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

    Education and Training

    • Have successfully completed a doctoral Ph.D. in an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited
    • program and must have completed an APA approved clinical psychology internship.
    • Have training and experience providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
    • Have training, experience, and interest in working with children and adolescents.
    • Have proven ability to accurately perform psychological assessment, diagnosis, and intervention of clients of all ages.
    • Be competent in writing quality assessment reports
    • Have proven knowledge of how to establish goals/treatment objectives and how to modify treatment plans when necessary.
    • Have experience managing patient caseloads and submitting client charting by deadlines identified.
    • Be able to seek supervision and consultation when needed.
    • Appropriately collaborate with other staff to provide for a multidisciplinary approach.
    • Adhere to professional practice standards, ethical principles and legal standards in clinical practice.
    • Stay current with new developments in clinical psychology through continuing education, training, professional societies and journals.
    • Trained in Behavioral Modification, Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and/or EMDR.
