Financial Coordinator, Full Time, Days CHOC Children's 135 reviews - Orange County, CA Under the supervision of the Supervisor of Pre Registration and Executive Director of Patient Financial Services, the Patient Access Representative is responsible for performing preadmission, insurance verification, financial counseling, and monitoring the quality of all required accounts that are scheduled through Centralized Scheduling and Patient Access and outpatient accounts scheduled by the individual departments. Patient Access representative will routinely interact with various internal departments including registration, admitting, and schedulers. Exceptional communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills are required to effectively interact with patients and their family, providers, staff, and management to meet and exceed customer expectations per established, department specific customer service and telephone etiquette protocols. Works as a liaison between insurance carrier, physician office, and clinical personnel within departments referrals to assure authorization and pre-registration for all services are in place prior to service. Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIRED: * 2 or more years of front office experience or 1 or more years experience in a high volume call center in a customer service related industry. * High School Diploma * Excellent verbal communication skills. Working knowledge of computer software, ie., Microsoft products. Ability to pleasantly handle interruptions in work tasks due to greeting people and answering multiple phone lines. Excellent interpersonal skills, maturity, and judgement with the ability to work harmoniously with others. PREFERRED/DESIRED: * 1or more years experience in pre-registration, insurance authorization in an acute care hospital setting, particularly in surgery or radiology, STRONGLY preferred * Experience with insurance authorization process STRONGLY preferred. CHAM or CHAR certified. * Strong knowledge of pre-registration and insurance verification software products. Bilingual English and Spanish.
