    Job Description

    Provide advanced design, development, maintenance, documentation, and support for UMROI clinical quality reporting applications. Accountable for understanding and applying key business concepts in the development of reports, dashboards, analytics, data mining, and other functions to provide historical, current, and predictive views of the business. Support performance improvement projects with data analysis, meeting organization, and utilization of PI tools and methodologies. Work is performed under limited supervision. Direct report to the Manager of Quality & PI.

    Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

    The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. These are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed.

    • Perform data entry, analysis and reporting in support of the hospital’s safety and metric goals, including unit and hospital level initiatives.
    • Work with UMROI leaders and system hospitals **** to acquire, manage, manipulate, and analyze data and report results pertaining to clinical outcomes, compliance, and standards of care
    • Prepare and deliver presentations on analysis results, updates, and recommendations to appropriate committee(s).
    • Identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions to enhance data quality.
    • Proactively identify potential data quality issues and propose solutions to prevent them.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert for data collection, reporting and presentation using Excel, Smartsheet and other reporting tools.
    • Provide support to hospital and unit-level safety and quality projects, including data management and coaching team members on project management and use of a performance improvement methodology to address opportunity areas.
    • Train and support team members on data quality processes and tools.
    • Maintain and submit data to regulatory agencies as required.
    • Participate in committee meetings that support both hospital level initiatives and unit level initiatives for quality improvement.
    • Support hospital regulatory surveys by staffing the resource command center, acting as a scribe, and/or providing reports and supporting documentation. Participate in preparatory drills, exercises, and rounds.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience - Required

    • Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, Healthcare Administration, Statistics, or related field.
    • 3 years’ experience working as a data quality or data analyst, preferably in a healthcare setting.
    • 1 year of experience in project management and/or performance improvement initiatives.

    Education & Experience - Preferred

    • Master’s degree in Health Science, Healthcare Administration, Statistics, or related field.
    • Experience managing healthcare databases.

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

    • Working knowledge of data analysis methodologies, principles and best practices.
    • Familiarity with performance improvement methodologies (e.g., PDSA, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
    • Strong analytical, data visualization, presentation development, and writing skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work with various software applications, data management systems, and generating report queries and writing reports.
    • Effective skill developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with all levels of leadership, staff and vendors.
    • Effective analytical, quantitative, planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Effective skill presenting findings, conclusions, alternatives and information clearly and concisely at all levels within the organization.
    • Effective skill managing multiple staff initiatives and meeting changing requirements and priorities to accomplish objectives.
    • Ability to analyze, compare, contrast, and validate work with keen attention to detail.
    • Strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering high quality work.
    • Effective skill in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

    Compensation:

    Pay Range: $36.315-$44.385
