    We are searching for the best talent for a Cloud Systems Engineer’s position, to be located in Santa Clara, CA.

    Purpose: We are looking for a Cloud Systems Engineer to join a team of hardworking roboticists and software engineers who are trying to solve some of the most difficult problems in medicine today. This role will be responsible for development on our AWS based Cloud Data Platform environment.

    You will be responsible for:

    • Focus on feature development within our Cloud Based Auris Data Platform.
    • Deploy, automate, maintain, and manage AWS infrastructure to ensure security, performance, and availability of production systems.
    • Optimize, improve and maintain the Data pipelines to ensure high availability and business continuity.
    • Leverage containerization and serverless solutions wherever possible.
    • Troubleshoot systems and solve problems across platform and application domains
    • Incident and problem management including timely problem identification, successful resolution, and root-cause analysis.
    • Design, build and evolve our production cloud infrastructure, employing automation and infrastructure-as-code (IaC).
    • Suggest architecture improvements and recommend process improvements.
    • Use your knowledge of AWS to assist engineering in planning feature development.

    Qualifications / Requirements:

    • You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open collaborative environment.
    • Knowledge of containers and industry-leading tools and technologies ( Docker, Kubernetes or similar technology).
    • Experience with AWS implementation and a working knowledge of core AWS products (e.g., VPC, EC2, S3, RDS, ELB, IAM, Lambda, SQS).
    • Fluency with one or more scripting languages (bash, python).
    • Excellent communication, prioritization, and analytical skills.
    • Experience documenting technical requirements.
    • Computer Science background and fundamentals.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, information technology or related is required.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in at least one scripting language.
    • Familiarity with the open-source community and development concepts.
    • Functional development with and knowledge of at least one major relational database.
    • Demonstrated ability to quickly evaluate, learn, implement and integrate new technologies to solve a problem.

    Preferred Skills & Experience:

    • Knowledge of public facing website and microservices based architecture and REST APIs a strong plus.
    • Experience with DevOps, CICD and automated deployment tools like Jenkins is a plus.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in Python scripting.

    Other Requirements:

    • Must be at least 18 years of age.
    • Ability to travel up to 10% domestic US and Internationally, with overnight stay.
    • Ability to work onsite at the J&J office in Santa Clara, CA.

    The expected base pay range for this position is $74,000 to $119,600.

    For the California Bay Area, the anticipated base pay range for this position is $86,000 to $138,000.

    The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

    Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance.

    Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

    This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
