    Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, or "CRMC", is a 25-bed, non-profit, critical access hospital serving Southeast Kansas and Northeast Oklahoma since 1949. As a rural hospital, CRMC is surprising because of its large size and wide variety of services.     The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) assists Physical Therapists in implementing and maintaining treatment plans using a variety of treatment techniques creating personalized goal-oriented health care programs for patients. S/he will treat patients, sanitize treatment areas, set up therapy equipment and monitor patients throughout their treatment.

    JOB DUTIES

    • Collect, assess and record patient information
    • Implement and execute established treatment plans and help guide therapeutic exercise
    • Administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain and improve mobility
    • Advise patients on exercise techniques and in-home treatment options
    • Provide educational information about injury prevention, ergonomics and ways to promote physical health
    • Set up therapy equipment
    • Sanitize therapy area
    • Lift or move patients, as necessary
    • Monitor and guide patients through exercises
    • Document patient care history timely and accurately
    • Comply with all rules, regulations and procedures
    • Maintain confidentiality of all information according to HIPAA and company policy

    The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) assumes other responsibilities as assigned.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Analytical ability to apply criteria and evaluate information to make decisions
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills; and excellent interpersonal skills in teaming with patients, medical staff and the public
    • Detail oriented with proven ability to multitask
    • Professional appearance and ease in developing rapport with others
    • Ability and willingness to accurately and appropriately document patient care notes in a timely manner in accordance with billing and regulatory requirements
    • Computer skills including MSOffice, Outlook, Meditech, preferred

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Completion of Physical Therapy Assistant program from an accredited educational institution, required
    • Current Kansas Physical Therapy Assistant License, required
    • Current BLS Certification, required
    • 1-2 years’ experience in an acute or clinical setting, preferred
