Position Overview
This is a hybrid position and you must be located in the Santa Clara, CA area and be willing to come into our office 3 days a week.
This position is focused on assisting with the planning and execution of communications activities for Shockwave Medical, a business unit within Johnson & Johnson MedTech. This role will support the execution of communications campaigns to align external and internal audiences (employees, HCPs, patients, etc.) across the globe with Shockwave’s current and forward-looking business strategy. Balancing simultaneous projects, managing multiple stakeholders, and establishing and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders are critical drivers for success. This individual will work in close partnership with cross-functional teams within Shockwave Medical, as well as the Johnson & Johnson MedTech communications team to support their strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Researches and assists with drafting and editing internal and external communications such as emails, presentations, newsletters, messaging, etc.
Support the development and execution of communications projects to ensure they meet timelines and goals, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support campaign objectives
Gather feedback and approvals from business and functional leaders for various communications materials
Conducts proactive fact-checking for communications intended for various external audiences, to include briefs, key messages, press releases, social media posts, and video scripts
Collaborates with senior team members to support development and logistics of employee engagement initiatives, such as All Hands Meetings, lunch and learns, newsletters and/or bulletins
Implements systems for reporting mechanisms to achieve accurate reporting on functional as well as tactical performance of external communications strategies
Leverages measurement and reporting to develop actionable insights into the performance of Shockwave communication efforts and contributes ideas for improvements or adjustments on future initiatives
Acts as one of the day-to-day contacts for external communications/PR agencies to help manage the account team, deliverables and budget.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree is required. We would prefer a degree with a focus on communications, journalism or marketing but may consider other areas of focus.
2-4 years of related experience required
Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills, with exceptional organizational skills
Basic knowledge of media production, communication and dissemination techniques and methods
Proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
Learns new methods and technologies easily; is smart, quick, nimble
Manages up, down, and across, bringing together the right resources to accomplish goals without relying on formal hierarchy
Proven track record of operating within tight deadlines and delivering high quality products
Proactive mindset with a capability to identify and seize opportunities as they arise
Ability to work under pressure, adapts quickly, and remains flexible as circumstances dictate

The anticipated salary range for this position is 89,000.00 - 140,000.00
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year
Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year
Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year
Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
