Contract Manager, Purchase Services
Job Description
General Summary
Under general supervision, provides leadership, coordination and administration for a portfolio of medical and surgical contracts, programs and services. Negotiate and implement purchase agreements encompassing all aspects of medical and surgical group purchasing including contracting for equipment, supplies, pharmaceuticals, lab reagents, equipment service, contracted services, and related distribution and general services. Focused on maximizing quality and service while achieving standardization, cost control and performance improvement. Directly supervises and assigns tasks to contract specialist in the completion of contract requests. Provides management reports and analysis of the information processed through the procurement system.
The University of Maryland Medical System operates hospitals, physician practices, outpatient clinics, health plans, and related health and human services within the state of Maryland Its members include 11 hospitals providing nearly 2,200 licensed beds with an overall annual supply expense of $800 million.
