Intern, Health Scholars Programs Health Care Positions Spokane, Washington Description COPE Health Scholars is COPE Health Solutions suite of health care educational programs, and is closely coordinated with our firms comprehensive health care consulting services. In partnership with the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, the COPE Health Scholars Programs provide pre-health students and careerists looking to make a transition to health care with a unique hands-on, experiential education opportunity. Scholars are carefully selected, well-trained and placed in clinical and administrative areas within hospitals, ambulatory care centers and other health care companies, where they are integrated into and assist the health care clinical or administrative team. The COPE Health Scholars Programs is a unique opportunity for students and those considering a career transition to bridge the gap between academic training and real life. The COPE Health Scholars Intern will support the operational management of the Health Scholar Program in a temporary capacity. The COPE Health Scholars Intern will be located in Spokane, WA and will be assisting in key operational work as assigned by the Program Manager. The COPE Health Scholars Intern will maintain administrative activities alongside a team of student leaders and will focus their efforts dependent on the needs of their assigned site. The successful candidate will support the COPE Health Scholars Programs in Spokane, WA in a temporary capacity, with a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week for at least three months. Responsibilities: Enrollment * Develop and maintain trackers to ensure organization of enrollment processes * Prepare materials for orientation and interviews * Compose communication to applicants regarding their current status and next steps * Assist Leadership Team in ensuring that all applicants health records, background checks and drug screens are compliant with health system policies and are filed appropriately File Management * Assist COPE Health Solutions staff and Leadership Team in planning for and executing file audits of active files to ensure compliance * Assist COPE Health Solutions staff and Leadership Team in auditing online platform profiles to ensure accuracy * File paperwork as appropriate * Enter information into online platforms as needed Departmental Operations * Work with the Scholars and Leadership Team to ensure that Scholars are appropriately scheduled for weekly shifts * Assist COPE Health Solutions staff and Leadership Team to ensure that monthly hours are entered into online platform as appropriate and that timesheets are filed * Assist COPE Health Solutions staff and Leadership Team to ensure that all weekly trackers are completed on a weekly basis Training * Attend and assist in the planning of quarterly Scholar training sessions Other Duties * Maintain an operational work plan as required by the Program Manager * Assist in ensuring Policies and Procedures for the COPE Health Scholars Programs are upheld * Assist with scheduling, space reservations and coordinating for meetings * Attend and participate in Leadership Team and Executive Team meetings * Maintain an open line of communication up and down the chain of command including bringing all questionable or red flag situations and matters to the Program Manager or Regional Manager * Assist in the efficient execution of operations of program * Meet or exceed all milestones, deadlines and deliverables of any work plan set by the Program Manager Qualifications: * Must be able to commit 20 hours per week for three months (note that this is a temporary position) * Enrolled in or graduated from a college or university * Enrolled in or graduated from the Health Scholar Program (preferred) * Strong customer drive and dedication to quality and success * Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills * Excellent customer service skills * Detail-oriented and able to work well independently * Able to work collaboratively and effectively while handling multiple projects on various timelines in an extremely fast-paced environment * Flexible with work hours, able to travel, and be able to work on evenings and weekends as need arises * Strong work ethic * High level of proficiency of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and Project Management) To Learn More: You can learn more about our COPE Health Scholars Programs here: https://copehealthscholars.org/programs/health-scholar/.
