Intensive In-Home / Intensive Family Reunion Specialist Cornerstones of Care 30 reviews - Kansas City, MO 64137 $34,058 - $39,000 a year - Full-time, Part-time LOCATION: Jackson County RESPONSIBILITIES: The IIS/IFRS Specialist works with two types of families: 1) families who are in crisis due to experiencing issues with abuse or neglect and who need intensive services in order to prevent their children from being placed outside of the home, and 2) families who need intensive services in order to safely reunify their children back into their home after they were removed due to abuse or neglect. The IIS/IFRS Specialist works intensively in the home of the family to teach them the specific skills they need to safely remain together, such as problem-solving skills, crisis management, parenting skills, communication, budgeting, home maintenance, life skills and more. The IIS/IFRS Specialist is also responsible for connecting families to community resources to help stabilize them and increase their support system. The IIS/IFRS Specialist is trained in Solution-Based Casework®, Sanctuary Model® of trauma informed care, and Signs of Safety® in order to better partner with the families they work with and to move them toward positive change. The IIS/IFRS Specialist is available to the families they serve 24/7 to ensure these families have the support they need to safely stay together. The IIS/IFRS Specialist will conduct home visits to ensure the safety of the children, partner for a consensus of the issues, identify outcomes/goals, create action plans, as well as to teach the family the skills they need to keep their children safe and in their home. The IIS/IFRS Specialist will make contact with relevant community agencies involved with the family, as well as attend court hearings, in order to provide progress reports, testify, or provide advocation and support for the family. The IIS/IFRS Specialist is also responsible for writing daily/weekly/initial/term progress reports on the families they are working and for entering these things into FACES (Childrens Division documentation system). The IIS/IFRS Specialist participates in weekly meetings that will include one on one supervision with their supervisor, as well as team/group meetings and case consultations. QUALIFICATIONS: An Advanced Degree in Social Work or a comparable human service field from an accredited institution and at least two (2) years of experience in family and childrens services; and/or a Bachelors Degree in Social Work or other human service field from an accredited institution and at least three (3) years post-degree experience in family and childrens services. Must pass background check, physical and drug screening. This position also requires a valid drivers license and proof of current vehicle insurance.
