The Data Engineering group offers the Summer Intern position within the Commercial Excellence (CE) division of Janssen.

The Data Engineering team's vision is to provide an agile, scalable, and forward-looking data engineering platform to advance the Commercial Excellence team's analytics capabilities to benefit Janssen customers. The Internship program is focused on providing graduate students with practical Data Engineering experience.

POSITION COMPONENTS

In this role, you will:

• Understand and analyze sales & marketing data sets using tools such as Dataiku, Tableau, and SQL workbench.
• Build and deploy data pipelines using components such as Dataiku plugins.
• Assist our support teams with troubleshooting, researching the root cause, and resolving defects in the event of a data quality issue.
• Monitor and troubleshoot operational or data issues in our commercial assets data pipelines
• Work collaboratively with Data Stewards, Data Scientists, and other internal partners to identify opportunities/problems.

SUCCESSFUL INTERNS ARE REQUIRED TO:

• Be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a Master’s degree in Information systems, Data Sciences, Computer Sciences, or related discipline.
• Possess strong oral and written communication skills. 
• Knowledge in collaborative data science platforms like Dataiku or Alteryx is highly desirable.
• Display proficiency in programming languages like Python or R and Microsoft Office products.
• Knowledge of Cloud computing technologies, Machine learning, and Feature engineering concepts will be preferred.
• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher is strongly preferred
• Be available to work full time (up to 40 hours) between June 2021 and August 2021
• Be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1-B status) now or in the future.
• Display a detail-oriented, highly organized mindset and able to manage multiple tasks
• Work individually (independently) as well as on a team
