  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    The Diet Technician consults with the Registered Dietitian to ensure implementation of the best standard of nutrition and dietary services. Responsibilities include dietary support, grocery budget allocation, client menu planning, maintaining a clean and well stocked kitchen, cooking and baking as needed, and appropriately discerning between appropriate and inappropriate client eating behaviors. This experience will prepare you to be a Registered Dietitian with hands on experience, learning from dedicated professionals, and working closely with a complex population.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide dietary support, client menu planning, maintenance of a secure and encouraging mealtime, advising on food preparation as necessary, and appropriately discerning between appropriate and inappropriate client eating behaviors. You will eat with the patients.
    • Consult with the Registered Dietitian to ensure implementation of the best standard of nutrition and dietary services
    • Monitor client consumption of appropriate exchange pattern
    • Enforce dietary program and advise clients appropriately on food choices
    • Ability to lead appropriate and relevant nutrition education groups that are engaging and appropriate
    • Demonstrate understanding of the medical consequences of eating disorders, the hazards of re-feeding and how to avoid complications
    • Ability to implement specific dietary exchange patterns through knowledge of portion size and caloric recommendations set by the Registered Dietitian
    • Ability to maintain professional boundaries with staff and clients

    Compensation Range: $18-20 per hour

    Compensation will be dependent upon education and experience.

    This is a full-time _ in-person_ position at our Glendale Outpatient Program

    Monday-Friday 11:00am-7:00pm

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Education or relevant experience in the field of nutrition and/or food service, preferred
    • Experience working in behavioral healthcare, preferred
    • Obtain CPI certification within 90 days of hire
    • Obtain CPR, AED, and First Aid certification within 90 days of hire
    • Obtain ServSafe certification within 90 day of hire
    • Must possess a current driver’s license and be in good standing
