Central Scheduling Specialist Edward-Elmhurst Health 239 reviews - Elmhurst, IL Part-time CENTRAL SCHEDULING SPECIALIST PART-TIME, DAYs PHYSICIAN PRACTICE DIVISION Answer phones for Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Rheumatology, Allergy and the Coumadin clinic OR Specialty Care Clinics. This position is part-time, 40 hours/pp. The hours will be Monday-Friday 10 am-3 pm. You may be required to work some Saturdays when coverage is needed. This position is located at the Business Office Center, 855 N. Church Ct. Elmhurst IL 60126. Casual dress workplace. Responsibilities include obtaining and entering demographic information into the registration system, verifying insurance coverage, sending communications to RNs as requested, and scheduling/canceling, rescheduling office visits. Call Center Agents take between 80-150 phone calls daily. Candidates must be comfortable sitting at a computer for long periods of time, taking calls one after another, scheduling appointments and sending messages to nursing staff, and must be multi functional and adapt to changes as needed. * Communicates professionally and appropriately to all patients, physicians, and staff members. * Assesses caller's needs, schedules / sends communications to RN staff determined by urgency of call and physician specific instructions. * Takes clear and concise messages and relays to the appropriate medical staff. * Obtains necessary demographic information from each caller and documents information in the Epic software. * Verifies insurance information in accordance with department policies.
