    Job Description

    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Engineer to design and develop DC harnesses for the marine market, optimizing electrical system architecture and wiring strategies. This role involves participating in all phases of new product development, from concept to production, and collaborating across multiple business functions. The ideal candidate will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for electric systems, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective, and innovative design solutions.

    Responsibilities:

    • Design and develop DC harnesses to optimize marine electrical systems.
    • Provide technical expertise in electrical system architecture and wiring strategies.
    • Participate in all phases of new product development, from initial concept to final production.
    • Coordinate cross-functional efforts between engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers.
    • Serve as an SME for electric systems, supporting internal and client teams.
    • Lead problem-solving activities, including co-development of FMEAs.
    • Support system-level boat testing and validation of components.
    • Track and manage cost to align with established target costs throughout development.
    • Develop and maintain Bills of Material (BOM) and update as needed.
    • Engage in the ECN/ECR process to manage engineering changes.
    • Apply DFMA (Design for Manufacturing & Assembly) principles to improve manufacturability.
    • Collaborate with suppliers to enhance design solutions.
    • Maintain a Continuous Improvement (CI) and Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) mindset to maximize consumer value.
    • Identify and mitigate risks, escalating issues when necessary.
    • Successfully manage projects from inception to completion.
    • Limited travel (less than 10% annually).

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a Technical Degree with equivalent experience.
    • 5+ years of experience in electrical systems and related technologies within the marine, powersports, off-road, or automotive industries.
    • Basic understanding of electrical harness fabrication tools and processes.
    • General knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
    • Strong skills in 2D/3D electrical system and harness modeling.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
    • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to engagea all levels of an organization.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively within teams and cross-functional groups.
    • Experience with marine electrical systems and components.
    • Familiarity with electrical system validation and testing in real-world conditions.
    • Strong project management skills to drive tasks to completion efficiently.
