The Therapeutic Support Staff (TSS) position is responsible for providing therapeutic support and one-on-one interventions under the supervision of a Master’s level therapist. This position is responsible for working with children and adolescents on acquiring, developing, and increasing social engagement and independent living skills, and increasing interaction in community and home settings. This position works to reduce problem behaviors that impede functioning.
Position details: Part-time position; 10-20 hours a week. Daylight and after school/early evening hours may vary based on assigned consumers.
Service area: This position provides services in Somerset county in Pennsylvania.
Job responsibilities of the Therapeutic Support Staff:
Implement interventions in home, school , and various community environments
Completes all required clinical documentation
Participates in assessment of needs and objective development; as appropriate
Collects date related to progress on consumer objectives
Responds to emergency/crisis situations with team members and consumers
Maintains assigned, planned schedule
Maintains a commitment to professional development
Adheres to professional and ethical interaction policies and procedures
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Counseling, Education, Psychology, Sociology, or Social Work OR
Bachelor’s Degree in any other field must have one (1) year of paid full-time experience working directly with children or adolescents OR
Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Counseling, Education, Psychology, Sociology, or Social Work AND must have one (1) year of paid full-time experience working as a Therapeutic Support Staff (TSS) OR
Associate’s Degree AND 60 credits towards a Bachelor’s Degree or LPNs must have 3 years of full-time paid experience working directly with children or adolescents
