The Interface Analyst conducts Health Level-7 (HL7), and other healthcare data interoperability protocols, interface development, and data conversion.
Here are some of the duties you will be responsible for:
- Build, document, and support HL7 interfaces using Corepoint integration engine
- Work with stakeholders to analyze, design, document, test, troubleshoot, and coordinate implementation of HL7 interfaces
- Collect workflow information and develop interface specifications and data flow diagrams
- Develop detailed analysis, appropriate timelines, and testing parameters
- Provides maintenance, support, and coding enhancements for existing interfaces and applications to meet integration needs between eCW and other clinical and financial applications
- Interprets and assists in designing specifications for integration of software programs/systems and applications, and/or modifies/maintains existing software programs/systems and applications
- Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents HL7 interfaces
- Assists and learns project management activities through mentorship
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of information systems development, implementation, and management acquired through completion of an Associate or Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or comparable industry experience
- Four to six years IT experience in a healthcare environment preferred
- Prior experience with Corepoint Integration Engine preferred
- Knowledge of data encapsulation formats such as HL7, X12, and/or other interface or Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) standards
- An understanding of clinical data integration required
- Previous experience creating, modifying, and testing message structures, events, and connections
- Strong understanding and knowledge of healthcare standards such as HL7 V2 messages, HL7 CCDA, HL7 FHIR, and IHE ITI transactions
- Working experience with the following HL7 interfaces/messages: ADT (admit/discharge/transfer), ORM (orders), ORU (observation result), and DFT (detailed financial transaction), PACS, Transcription; also an understanding of the principles of asynchronous information exchange interface
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with at least one HL7 interface engine (CorePoint, Mirth, Cloverleaf, Ensemble, etc.)
- Minimum of 3 years HL7 interface analysis, development, troubleshooting, and maintenance including ADT, Orders, and Radiology results
- Experience writing scripts within interface engines
- Understanding of data formats and other Healthcare standards (HL7, FHIR, ICD, SNOMED, CPT, LOINC)At least one year of experience in internal IT Support, Help Desk, or similar preferred
