    Our Children's Hospital is growing! We are now recruiting for our new Pediatric Intermediate Care Unit (Pediatric IMC). Pediatric Intermediate Care Nursing involves providing specialized care to children who are not critically ill but require more attention than general care. Nurses in this field monitor and manage conditions that fall between general care and intensive care, ensuring the well-being of pediatric patients. They often deal with children recovering from surgery, chronic illnesses, or complex medical conditions, focusing on stability and progression towards full health. Communication with the child, their family, and the healthcare team is crucial in delivering comprehensive and compassionate care.

    Required Skills

    · Possesses critical thinking and problem solving skills.

    · Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.

    · Possesses effective interpersonal relationship skills.

    · Ability to utilize computers for documentation purposes.

    · Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

    · Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.

    Required Experience

    Work Experience

    • None

    License/Registration/Certification

    • Current RN License to practice in the State of Texas
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), within 6 months of hire

    Education and Training

    • Associate’s degree in Nursing, BSN preferred.
