We are searching for the best talent for our Head of Robotics Strategy, Surgery - J&J MedTech position. This role will be based in Santa Clara, CA.
The Head of Robotics Strategy, Surgery, J&J MedTech will be responsible for organizing & leading a cross-functional team to shape all Robotic Surgery strategies across the platforms. Working closely with Business Development on external development opportunities as well as internally with all MedTech Research & Development platforms, this leader will help accelerate innovation and connectedness to better serve patients.
The primary objectives of this role include:
Lead Robotics strategy, informed by global strategic insights and unmet market needs, ultimately delivered through organic & inorganic development opportunities
Partner closely with innovation teams from concept to technical and commercial feasibility
Champion mid to long term vision and innovation strategy, exploration of strategic partnerships and M&A opportunities
Partner closely with M&A teams to execute projects
Identify new 3rd party partnerships that can help accelerate our robotics strategy and time to market
Manage strategic alliances which could augment the Robotic portfolio, identifying revenue streams and product differentiation opportunities
Develop the positioning, pricing and marketing strategy for new Robotic products, and working closely with global and regional teams to deliver new product launch forecasts
Develop global insights to drive new product concepts and marketing strategies
Drive value-based healthcare initiatives through key claims and a robust evidence strategy
Proactively align decision making with enterprise-wide strategy and evaluate short- and long-term goals to prioritize highest impact actions
Provide Robotic thought leadership across the organization
Build a pipeline of talent and fostering a culture of engagement within the team
Education: BS/BA. MBA or advanced degree preferred
Experience and key competencies:
10+ years of experience in robotics required
Experience managing teams and the ability to identify and develop talent required
Demonstrated track record of increased marketing responsibilities
Cross-functional experience is preferred (i.e. Sales, Finance, R&D, etc.)
Medical device or healthcare industry is preferred
Experience identifying important, non-obvious customer insights and turning those insights into new product concepts required
Strong strategic and analytic skills required
Proven ability to go from strategy to execution and deliver results in the market required
Experience launching new products required
Experience in marketing programs to create new markets or market segments is preferred
Knowledge of marketing research and analysis, including (VOC) voice of the customer is required
Travel requirement:
Domestic and international travel is required up to 30% of the time.

California Bay Area the anticipated base pay range for this position is from $222,000 to $409,400.
Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
· Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year
· Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year
· Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year of Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
