    Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Histology/Cyto Clerk - Histology - Per Diem - Clinical Labs-Histology - Per Diem - 09:00 AM - 05:00.

    In this role, the successful candidate Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures performs a variety of clerical duties as required by the Histology/Cytology section Types files and maintains neat and accurate records while accommodating a fluctuating workload

    Job Responsibilities:

    bull; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Maintains updates and distributes all necessary reports
    bull; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Organizes time to accommodate changing workflow
    bull; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Recognizes patient confidentiality issues and faxes results to responsible physician only
    bull; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Able to obtain and relay information in clear and accurate manner nbsp;

    bull; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Must follow proper procedures for identifying verifying and transporting patient samples from the Operating Room and Ambulatory Surgery Area

    bull; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Maintains records of all positive cytology cases
    bull; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Maintains and updates records and files
    bull; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Distributes reports to proper areas
    bull; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Updates all necessary logs to conform to third party regulatory agencies
    bull; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Handles routine use of Reference Lab Computer System nbsp;
    nbsp;

    Minimum Qualifications:
    To qualify you must have a High School Diploma Knowledge of medical terminology Updated computer skills Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate and provide information Ability to pay close attention to details in all performance expectations General Typing and filing knowledge Knowledge of universal precautions

    Long Island Community Hospital provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $16.05 - $24.22 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
