    Job Description

    We are looking for an experienced Human Resource (HR) manager (7+ years) to lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices for a new business organization. The HR manager will collaborate with the management team to implement HR initiatives in line with the organization’s strategic objectives.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

    • Create HR strategy including recruiting, training, compensation, retention and others for all employees based on market research; keeps the strategy up to date
    • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in a new business organization.
    • Ensure job descriptions are up to date and compliant with all local, state and federal regulations
    • Develop training materials and performance management programs to help ensure employees understand their job responsibilities
    • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
    • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
    • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
    • Investigate employee issues and conflicts and brings them to resolution
    • Use performance management tools to provide guidance and feedback to team
    • Ensure all company HR policies are applied consistently
    • Maintain company organization charts and employee directory
    • Partner with management to ensure strategic HR goals are aligned with business initiatives
    • Maintain HR systems and processes
    • Conduct performance and salary reviews
    • Provide support and guidance to HR staff

    **DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: **

    • Collaborates with the management team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
    • Provides support and guidance to HR generalists, management, and other employees when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
    • Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
    • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes a competitive base to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
    • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
    • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
    • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
    • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software.
    • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HR policy and management systems.
    • Bilingual (Korean/English) preferred

    **EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: **

    • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, or Organization Development
    • A minimum of seven years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions
    • Specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, training, and preventive labor relations, preferred.
