    What’s it like to be an Intern/Co-Op for the Janssen Oncology Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council?

    Gain hands-on, real-world experience learning about how diversity, equity and inclusion is how we work every day. Work on projects that improve your leadership, problem solving, and critical thinking skills. Network and gain cross-functional exposure working with the council members, diverse workforce and our internal employee resource organizations, Janssen DE&I Advisory Board, Our Race to Health Equity (ORTHE) team. Work with knowledgeable subject matter experts and develop skills to build a strong career foundation!

    DURING YOUR INTERNSHIP/CO-OP, YOU WILL:

    • Support Janssen Oncology’s DE&I Council’s workstream activities by working directly with the co-leads and the workstream leaders on executing goals and objectives of initiatives  
    • Evaluate Improvements for accuracy and simplification of quarterly reporting.
    • Partner with ERG leads to share/disseminate and communicate Council’s information, updates, etc.
    • Support external research on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to support council’s goals and objectives
    • Liaise with council’s communications team in executing communication strategy plan while ensuring broader awareness and visibility of the council’s accomplishments
    • Help plan and prepare council’s presentations and updates
    • Work with council members refine and finalize the council’s informational slide deck
    • Manage dissemination of Council’s formal communications to the TA globally   
    • Maintain/update SharePoint and Yammer sites with guidance
    • Assist with leaders with planning, preparation, and implementation of TA’s summer internship program (lecture series, team building,  
    • Enabling J&J to fulfill our external commitments and prepare for activation of insights.

    INTERN/CO-OP WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING CRITICAL EXPERIENCES:

    • Exposure to how DEI Data highlights areas of focus, supports key council workstreams and measure our progress.
    • Working both internally and externally across key partners and groups will help develop collaboration skills needed in today’s virtual workplace.
    • Prioritization and interpersonal skills will be developed while working across projects that support our DEI Strategy.
    • Use creative problem-solving skillsets, to develop new ideas and insights, including takeaways about yourself as a leader.

    QUALIFICATIONS – EXTERNAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and must not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future (e.g. H1-B status)
    • A minimum GPA of 3.0 Cumulative is strongly preferred
    • Candidate must be actively enrolled pursuing either a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Administration (HR, Communication, Computer Science/Information Technology, Health Disparities, DE&I and have completed at least 1 year in an undergraduate program
    • Experience/interest in data, analytics, data visualization, diversity, and inclusion a plus
    • Knowledgeable with social media platforms including posting updates/news, etc
    • Proven leadership in campus/community activities is desired.
    • Able to work individually, as well as, part of a group, with curiosity and flexibility.
    • Possess a “can do” approach, and courage to speak your voice and suggest innovative ideas.
    • Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) during internship.
    • Technical Skills with MS Office Suite, MS 365 Applications (SharePoint, Teams, OneNote, Forms, Steam, Yammer, etc)
