Working with KP’s Facilities, Strategy, Planning & Design team brings unique opportunities to learn, grow, and influence healthcare design across the US and the world. KP has a project budget on over 3 billion dollars a year. This means you are exposed to dozens of different projects, from micro clinics to hospitals, and you come into contact with a multitude of clinical and design experts every year.
We operate 80 million square feet of space and have a very robust database that helps us monitor the success of our designs for continuous improvement. Our Property Profiles and Post Occupancy Evaluation programs allow us to hear first-hand about what is working and what is not working for the end users of the buildings we design, and how our designs can improve people’s lives.
Kaiser’s unique model of integrated care delivery gives us the opportunity to partner with clinicians and members to develop our design program and support KP’s mission of delivering affordable, high-quality care to our members. If we have a question about the best way to design a specific space, or want to test a new model of care, we have access over 20,000 physicians, 59,000 nurses, and 12 million members that we can leverage for input and information. This allows us to get a depth and breadth of knowledge that is hard to match anywhere else.
Our architects and planners have the opportunity to lead research and initiatives on topics they care about. We have resources like the Garfield Innovation Center, the Tustin Ranch Innovation Center, and the Center for Total Health, where we can test both real and virtual mock-ups and leverage our access to different kinds of end users to get comprehensive feedback on our designs. In addition, Kaiser’s emphasis on diversity, growth opportunities, work/life balance, and our robust benefits package consistently put us among the best places to work for.
