    JOB SUMMARY

    Our Program Director will own strategic oversite and project management for complex new product development (NPD) teams within Laminar. The Program Director will report to the VP of Laminar and will be responsible for driving cross-functional collaboration, ensuring delivery of all aspects of their program, and escalating opportunities and issues to the leadership team as necessary. The Program Director will be accountable for all aspects of program execution. This leader will ensure products and systems are launched on time and meet established goals. Ultimately, this role will support leadership decisions affecting project budgets, alignment of resources, project execution and physician and customer relations.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead complex program activities and program management activities including, but not limited to: accountable for program tracking, acceleration, and risk identification and mitigation for the duration of the development process through stabilization, responsible for working with project team to identify critical path and evaluate triple constraint tradeoffs.
    • Ability to manage a complex network of stakeholders including executive and external.
    • Strong ability to drive a program plan within an ambiguous environment.
    • Escalates when necessary to ensure opportunities and issues are being addressed and elevated to the correct level.
    • Operates within a matrix environment to drive speed and clarity in decision making, leveraging cross functional resources.
    • Partner with Functional Leaders for program objective delivery and alignment, reporting of program progress across the organization, and ensuring alignment across to key platform initiatives.
    • Monitors and tracks action items and plans to ensure rapid follow-through and progress against commitments.
    • The role is accountable for securing trade-off decisions to help the team manage the triple constraint (time, scope, resources) and for appropriate escalation of challenges cross-functionally.
    • Collaborates with Program Leadership members to champion team effectiveness, driving a culture of empowerment, urgency, accountability, achievement, and decision making. The role ensures an environment of cross functional open/safe challenges and risk discussions.
    • Provide career development, performance management, and coaching to assist team members in talent development.
    • Foster engagement, teamwork, diversity, and inclusion within the team, between teams and other groups.
    • The role builds and champions a collaborative team culture and continuous team integration. The role inspires and provides support through change management, team member motivation, and recognition.
    • Partner with product development organizations to understand the business growth and go to market strategies, understand their technical needs, priorities to appropriately manage expectations and prioritization.
    • Ensure projects are executed in compliance with regulatory requirements (GMP, ISO, MDD) & J&J policy & procedure requirements.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, engineering, information technology or business administration is required
    • Ability to travel up to 20% (domestic and international may be required based on project needs)
    • A minimum of 10 years of practical work experience in Program Management and Medical Device Product Development.
    • Strong knowledge of new product development/engineering is required.
    • Experience delivering complex medical device systems within the cardiac medical device space.
    • Ability to define, shape, and drive projects to completion while effectively collaborating strategically with others is required.
    • Ability to manage external relationships and vendors to complete deliverables is required.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
    • Ability to define and manage the details of a project while understanding the bigger picture of the business strategy is required.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    PMP, MBA is preferred.

    Additional Information:

    The anticipated base pay range for this position is 204,000 – 260,000 annual.

    Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

    This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.

    • Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

    • Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year
    • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year
    • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year
    • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year

    • The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
