The Teen Parent Services Program, as part of the Tandem Collaborative through St. David's Foundation, provides support services to teen parents who receive their prenatal and primary care at People's Community Clinic. In addition to case management services, TPS facilitates two education and support groups to expectant and parenting teens in area middle and high schools each school semester. This internship position will focus on assisting Teen Parent Services Case Managers with the education and support groups component of the program. Responsibilities: * Assist with planning, preparing, co-facilitating, and debriefing of a minimum of one weekly expectant and parenting teen education and support group during the fall or spring semester * Review, revise, and design developmentally-appropriate interactive and engaging resource materials for the education and support groups * Actively participate in initial orientation, ongoing training, and supervision meetings * Participate in TPS team meetings as schedule permits The start and end dates and exact number of hours per week will be dependent upon the intern's schedule. Qualifications: * Strong communication, research, critical thinking, planning and decision-making skills; ability to seek guidance and receive constructive feedback; desire to work with youth and enjoy working with youth; be a positive role model who demonstrates appropriate boundaries; ability to work collaboratively; some knowledge/experience in working with youth; academic background in the social sciences/psychology/education/social work * Experience in working with high school-aged youth and/or teen parents is preferred Requirements: * Interview * LifeWorks Background Check 14 hours ago - save job - original job
