    Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Manager, Operations - Nutritional Services - Full Time, Days - Food&Nutrition-Patient Food Sv - - 0.

    In this role, the successful candidate The Operations Manager Nutritional Services oversees the activities of Patient Services and Retail areas within the department This role involves assessing the department s needs ensuring food and supplement stock levels and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards

    Job Responsibilities:

    Purchasing and Inventory Management

    • Purchase food non food supplies and equipment
    • Research departmental needs and evaluate available products ensuring alignment with enterprise supply chain standards
    • Coordinate with the Store Room Employee to validate quantities and invoices against forecasts
    • Implement and maintain the FIFO First In First Out system for food storage in compliance with state and HACCP guidelines
    • Initiate and oversee equipment purchases and repairs
    • Purchase items for special events as required

    Operations Management

    • Guide personnel in achieving goals and supervising daily activities
    • Conduct regular meetings with staff in patient services retail catering and production
    • Ensure production staff has necessary food items in coordination with the Sous Chef
    • Communicate changes and protocols to supervisors effectively
    • Conduct performance improvement conferences and appraisals
    • Delegate tasks efficiently and support personnel in achieving their objectives
    • Implement QAPI Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement initiatives for the department
    • Maintain quality food production and service for patient meals retail venues and catering events
    • Execute service recovery measures as necessary to uphold service standards

    Financial Oversight

    • Oversee departmental purchases and financial reporting
    • Review daily and monthly accounting for the Employee Dining Room and catering events
    • Collaborate with the Director and Assistant Director on budget preparation and financial analysis

    Personnel Management

    • Schedule staffing efficiently to maximize resource utilization within budget constraints
    • Oversee onboarding processes and ensure completion of all new hire documentation
    • Maintain confidential personnel records including documentation of disciplinary actions

    Minimum Qualifications:
    To qualify you must have a Bachelors Degree Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook ServSafe Certification must be obtained within six months of hire 10 years progressive food service experience including production and patient services 5 years supervisory experience.

    Required Licenses: ServSafe Certification

    Long Island Community Hospital provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $65,611.00 - $111,343.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
