Then join us! 99 Healthcare Management is seeking a Medical Assistant for an ENT practice in Richardson. Duties include assisting physician with patient care, clerical, environmental and organizational tasks. In addition, the position is responsible ensuring an adequate quantity of medical and office supplies are always on hand, making sure exam rooms are stocked, and assisting the Office Coordinator.

    Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. No weekends or after hours.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Verify benefits and insurance eligibility for patient surgery.
    • Schedule patient surgeries.
    • Scan and maintain appropriate paperwork for patient appointments and insurance verification.
    • Check schedules and organizing patient flow.
    • Accompany patients to exam/procedure room.
    • Assist patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam, etc.
    • Collect patient history.
    • Perform screenings per provider guidelines.
    • Assist physicians/nurses with various procedures.
    • Answer calls and providing pertinent information.
    • Set up instruments and equipment according to protocol.
    • Clean exam/procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control.
    • Restock exam/procedure rooms.
    • Share problems relating to patients and/or staff with immediate supervisors quickly.
    • Prescription refills.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • Work experience as a medical assistant is preferred but not required.
    • Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures.
    • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
    • Social perceptiveness and service oriented.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong organizational and planning skills.
    • Certificate of completion from accredited Medical Assistant program.
    • Proficiency in MS Office.
    • EMR experience also required; E-Clinical Works preferred.
