Medical Assistant, Radiation Oncology, full time, days
Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for assisting physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and team members within Radiation Oncology with patient care, performing appropriate procedures, transporting patients, preparing rooms and equipment. The MA is also responsible for maintaining records, assisting with front-office activities when necessary and interacting in a professional, friendly manner with patients and family members, physicians, staff, and visitors.
Qualifications
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Education & Training: High School or GED required. Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program and certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants or other certifying bodies highly preferred. Prior experience will be taken into consideration in lieu of Medical Assistant education and certification. CPR required.
Work Orientation & Experience: Phlebotomy experience required. One year experience in a medical office setting is preferred. EMR experience preferred.
Skills & Abilities: Ability to: a) read, write and comprehend medical terminology; b) effectively convey verbal and written information; c) follow directions; d) perform simple mathematical calculations correctly; e) respond to emergency situations appropriately; f) adapt hours of availability to variable and changing needs of the Center, including all shifts; g) effectively function as a member of a collaborative team; h) organize and manager time effectively, setting appropriate priorities; i) obtain specimens: j) obtain blood products; k) start IV’s; complete medication reconciliation and verify allergies; m: obtain and accurately document vital signs and patient weights; n) demonstrate excellent hand hygiene practice.

Compensation:
Pay Range: $18.36-$25.34
