Job Description
Under the consultative supervision of the Associate Chief of Proton Physics assists the Medical Physics team with routine quality assurance tasks. Performs patient specific plan verification measurements and/or calculations. Assist the Medical Physics team in daily, monthly, and annual quality assurance tests. Assists the Medical Physics team with the development of customized software tools. Assist the medical physics team with the administration of the radiation safety program. Under supervision, performs routine medical physics task.

1. General knowledge of radiation physics. Knowledge of best practices in Radiation Safety management.
2. Knowledge of health physics equipment, such as, survey meters, various dosimeters. Understands the working principles of dose measurement instruments and detectors such as diodes, ionization chambers, TLDs and film dosimetry.
3. Technical and organizational ability to assist the Radiation Safety Officer in overseeing and coordinating radiation safety program
4. Effective verbal and written communication skills are required in order to work with staff, faculty, medical and nursing personnel. Ability to work with ionizing radiation requiring observance of radiation safety procedures.
