    Inventory Control Specialist Requisition Number 58124 Account Eastern Maine Medical Center Department Materials Shift Regular Full-time Status Variable Hours Variable Hours per Week 40 Job Details Position Summary Under the supervision of the Regional Director of Supply Chain, the Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for the management of Perioperative Service, Endo, Interventional Radiology, and Cath Lab-specific products (inventory, non-stock, consignment, etc.) and services to meet supply demand and requirements. Works under the direction of the Senior Inventory Control Specialist to provide oversight of organization of supplies, receipt/replenishment/put away of goods, accurate/timely/proactive maintenance and use of materials management system. The incumbent performs duties and tasks in accordance with performance standards established for the job. The incumbent is responsible for participation in and completion of all patient safety initiatives appropriate to the position. Required Associates Degree in related field or equivalent work experience A minimum of 3 years' experience working with inventory management Other Skills Required Excellent interpersonal skills are required as the incumbent deals with individuals in many areas of the hospital, vendor representatives, and colleagues in other local and sister hospitals. Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills to maintain sufficient inventory levels, develop contingencies, and coordinate purchases to maximize value to hospital. Must operate effectively with minimal guidance from the Director. Held to highest levels of accountability as responsibilities directly impact quality of care delivered in the Perioperative Services. Physical Requirements Manual dexterity, visual acuity, and color vision are required to check for outdates and to locate appropriate instruments and equipment. Must possess the degree of strength and flexibility daily. Standing and walking comprise: 60% standing and walking. 40% sitting in an office environment.
