He/she utilizes mechanical equipment, tools, chemical solutions and cleaning supplies.nbsp;nbsp; ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Maintains interior and exterior assigned areas in the hospital in a clean, sanitary and orderly condition. * Scours and polishes sinks, showers, bathtubs, tiles and other bathroom equipment. * Dust mops and wet mops areas and periodically waxes and buffs floors. * Cleans and dusts furniture, windowsills, mirrors, blinds, shades, fans, pictures, ceilings, doorframes, wall vents, light fixtures etc. (uses ladder when necessary) * Washes mattresses, beds, examination tables and makes beds after discharge. * Collects and disposes of trash in patient areas in accordance with infection control procedures. * Washes trash receptacles and relines as needed. * Strips and re-finishes floors; moves patient beds, furniture, equipment, boxes, files, etc. as required. REQUIREMENTS:nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; * High School Diploma or equivalency required. * Basic computer literacy is required. * Must read, write, speak and understand English.nbsp; * One-year cleaning experience in an institutional/commercial setting preferred. * Knowledge of industrial cleaning maintenance equipment such as high-speed floor burnishers, extractors and groundskeeper equipment. * Must know recycling and hazardous waste guidelines. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift heavy objects and able to stand for long periods of time; work requires standing, walking, and manual dexterity.
