With more than three decades of expertise, Operation Smile creates solutions that deliver free surgery to people where its needed most. As one of the largest medical volunteer-based nonprofits, Operation Smile has mobilized thousands of medical volunteers from a wide range of medical specialties from more than 80 countries. Operation Smile engages public-private partnerships to advance health care delivery, train local medical professionals to provide surgical care for patients in their communities, donate crucial medical equipment and supplies, and increase access to surgical care so that everyone living with cleft is treated. The Social Media Intern will work with the Social Media & Digital Insights Specialist, providing support for Operation Smiles social media, blog, email, websites and other content-related projects. Experience required: * Social media community management. * Social media analytics. * Copyediting in AP style. * Social media writing. Responsibilities: * Responding to audience engagement on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn. * Creating monthly and campaign-specific analytics reports. * Copyediting social media, blog and email content. * Brainstorming ways to increase audience engagement and capitalize on relevant trends. * Assist in the development of social media content campaigns. The ideal candidate will have: * Experience in social media scheduling and analytics software like AgoraPulse and Simply Measured. * Strong copy editing and writing skills. * Experience identifying strong image composition, background in photograhy or graphic design. * A strong interest in global health or sustainable development. * Strong attention to detail and self motivation.
