  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    1. Assists in the coordination of activities in the journey to become a high reliability organization (HRO).
    2. Coordinates with the Manager of Patient Safety/PSO to direct the patient safety program.
    3. Coordinates root cause analysis (RCA) process/facilitation, including investigations, and apparent cause analysis with subsequent follow up action plans in accordance with The Joint Commission and State of Maryland COMAR Regulations for sentinel event and adverse event review, reporting and improvement plans. Facilitates action plan creation and completion.
    4. Responsible for communication and education regarding patient safety and risk prevention strategies throughout the hospital and ambulatory setting.
    5. Serves as a consultant and resource person to the unit managers and unit/department clinical representatives (i.e., UBSCs) and assists clinical and ancillary departments with the development of clinical and/or patient safety indicators, criteria, and process improvements
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or health care related field is required.
    • Current licensure in related field is required (i.e. nursing, physical therapy).
    • Three of experience in performing patient safety activities in an acute care facility is required. Experience in an Academic Medical Center is preferred
