Common Threads is seeking a Program Coordinator for Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Program Coordinator is responsible for building and managing relationships with schools, community based organizations, and other community partners, while also managing and delivering the implementation of Common Threads’ in-school and after-school programs. They are also responsible for maintaining a high quality of implementation, scheduling, auditing and communication with school administrators and staff, community partners, and the Common Threads team.

The position is part-time, non-exempt, up to 25 hours per week, and will report to the Pennsylvania Senior Program Manager. This position will work from their home office, but should be located in Allegheny County, preferably in the City of Pittsburgh.

Program Coordinator Responsibilities:

• Manage school and community partner relationships in PA including:
  • Recruit new schools for partnerships per grant goals
  • Work with staff, school administration, and teachers to schedule and implement our in school/out of school nutrition education programs.
  • Manage specific program pieces such as rosters, curriculum and surveys
• Assist in managing SNAP-Ed programs and responsibilities including PSE initiatives
• Oversee quality of programming regarding curriculum and partner relationships (frequent class visits are required)
• Attend virtual and in-person external and internal meetings
• Assist in managing and supporting chef instructors and interns
• Conduct our nutrition education programs
• Utilize our CRM to track all program data
• Primarily will work Monday- Friday, but some night and/or weekends may be required
• Develop and manage relationships with Key Stakeholders including, government officials, school board members and superintendents, and clinical medical partners
• Support fundraising and grant goals and initiatives
• Maintain program supplies, responsible for storage unit inventory and distribution

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred. Education, Program Management, Public Health, Nutrition Professional background preferred.
• Knowledge of nutrition and cooking preferred
• 3-5+ years’ experience in not-for-profit organizations preferred
• Experience coordinating or conducting trainings and professional development sessions
• Experience working with a CRM preferred
• Ability to work within a mission-driven environment to develop professional and respectful relationships with people both internal and external to Common Threads
• Ability to work independently and remotely with confidence and outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong organizational, time management and logical thinking skills; must be task-oriented
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skill set
• Possess positive, upbeat energy and a passion for wellness, food access, tolerance and awareness, and making a positive impact on society
• Comfortable multi-tasking and adapting role and communication style depending on the task
• Must have access to a car and willing to travel locally
• Proficient in Microsoft Office

Compensation & Benefits:

• Mileage will be reimbursed.
• This is a part-time position that will primarily work Monday - Friday. Some nights and/or weekends may be required.

Additional Information:

• Common Threads employees are subject to a background check prior to employment.
• Instructors should be comfortable teaching in a virtual setting and possess adequate technology to teach a class, such as a laptop/computer/digital tablet, camera, headphones/mic, etc.
• Instructors must be available to teach for eight consecutive weeks, typically once per week
• Instructors must arrive at the class location one hour before class starts time to prep for in-person programming. In virtual classes, instructors must adequately prepare for the class in their home kitchen; and join the meeting ready to teach at least 5 minutes before class start time.
