    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Mechanical Engineering Co-op role on the Post Market Engineering Team will use hands-on engineering principles to conduct post market investigations of FDA approved medical devices. In this position, you will conduct complaint failure investigations and support limited market releases of novel engineering products. You will develop a basic and broad engineering skillset to include root cause analysis, fixture design, Impella product knowledge, and cardiology clinical background.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Responsible for identifying and researching failures to improve product quality and reliability.
    • Develop, record, and perform various failure analyses on systems and components to identify root cause.
    • Establish root cause failure analysis techniques, processes, and test methods.
    • Apply statistical tools to analyze data and drive problem resolution.
    • Support sustaining engineering projects by proposing drawing and specification changes, modifying engineering models and drawings, designing test fixtures, conducting testing, and analyzing data.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Junior, Senior, or Graduate student pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and other related field.
    • Experience with root cause analysis, fixture and test development preferred.
    • Proficiency with Engineering CAD software. SolidWorks preferred.
    • Familiarity with analytical software, such as Matlab and Minitab.
    • Ability to solve problems independently.
    • A passion for medical devices and making a significant positive impact on patients.
