The Janssen R&D Discovery, Product Development, & Supply (DPDS) Postdoctoral Fellowship Program helps early career scientists gain the training and experience needed to further their careers, while addressing the needs of global healthcare. Janssen DPDS Postdocs work side-by-side with Janssen scientists on innovative research projects and have the opportunity to present and publish their work. They also learn the functional role of scientists in the pharmaceutical industry and receive valuable career advice from mentors while building a network of professional contacts and developing the skills needed to advance their careers.
The candidate will join the API Cell Therapy Process Development team where they will investigate/optimize novel metabolic and process parameters within the autologous manufacturing process to produce more potent and durable CAR-T cells for oncology indications. In addition to T cell metabolism work, the Postdoctoral fellow will have the opportunity to learn and participate in the development of next generation autologous cell therapy manufacturing process design.
THE CANDIDATE’S RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
Independently design and execute experiments
Data analysis and interpretation, defining next steps
Cross-functional collaboration and communication, presenting results, preparing manuscript(s)
Development, training, conferences, internal meetings & symposia
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Microsoft Excel, Spotfire, GraphPad, FlowJo
Experience with Western blots, RT-PCR
PREFERRED AREA OF STUDY:
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
A working background in T cell biology and metabolism with hands on experience in T cell culture and gene engineering
Knowledge and experience in autologous CAR-T cell therapy
Experience with analytical assays including flow cytometry, ELISAs, cytokine release assays, mitochondrial membrane potential assays and metabolic profiling using Nova Bioprofile or BGA
Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and collaborative skills and demonstrate deep intellectual curiosity
