    Janssen Research & Development, L.L.C., a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is recruiting a co-op for Biologics/Large Molecule Drug Product Development (DPD), to be based in Malvern, PA. The co-op will support activities related to the Process Development of Fill-Finish Activities including Automation, Lab Work, and Process Simulations.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Contribute to onboarding, optimizing, operating, and programming a new vial-filling machine for pre-clinical Fill-Finish.
    • Leading the execution of experiments supporting process development of large molecule therapeutics and their primary containers.
    • Leading the design, manufacturing, simulation, and qualification of equipment parts/fixtures.
    • Support the fill/finish team with recipe development, execution, continuous improvements, and standardization of vial fills.

    At the culmination of the internship, the intern will have gained:

    • Hands-on lab and automation experience operating, programming, and optimizing equipment.
    • Exposure to the pharmaceutical industry and drug product development.
    • Understanding of the relationship between processing steps and manufacturing conditions on drug product quality.
    • Ongoing career and academic coaching supporting their career trajectory.

    Qualifications

    • Undergraduate student enrollment in an accredited College/Institution degree program.
    • Pursuing a degree related to Chemical, Bio-Medical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Automation engineering.
    • Availability to work full-time for the duration of the co-op period of 6 months.
    • Must be able to provide transportation to and from the worksite in Malvern (335 Phoenixville Pike).
    • Previous co-op or internship experience is preferred.
    • Previous experience with standard laboratory techniques is preferred.
    • Previous experience with automation, design, manufacturing, and programming is preferred.
    • Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.
