    Johnson & Johnson Vision, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting Sophomores, Juniors and rising Seniors for internships in Research & Development (R&D) located in Irvine, CA.

    We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our Research and Development team for medical devices. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to learn and contribute to the development of innovative medical devices for improving patient outcomes. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of mechanical engineering within the medical device industry.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Assist in the design, development, and testing of mechanical components and systems for medical devices.
    2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and contribute to the development of design solutions.
    3. Support the creation and review of 3D models and technical drawings using SolidWorks CAD software.
    4. Conduct research and analysis on materials and technologies suitable for medical device applications.
    5. Participate in prototyping activities and help refine designs based on performance feedback.
    6. Assist in conducting design verification and validation tests to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
    7. Document and maintain engineering records, including design changes, test results, and technical reports.
    8. Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and workflows.
    9. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field of medical devices and mechanical engineering.

    Qualifications

    1. Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Preferably in their junior year or above.
    2. Strong theoretical knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and techniques.
    3. Proficiency in CAD SolidWorks for designing mechanical components and creating 2D drawing.
    4. Basic understanding of manufacturing processes commonly used in medical device production.
    5. Excellent problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
    6. Good communication and teamwork skills, capable of working effectively in a cross-functional environment.
    7. Self-motivated and eager to learn, with a proactive approach to tasks and a passion for medical device R&D.

    This is a paid internship position that offers valuable hands-on experience within a dynamic and innovative R&D environment. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced engineers and contribute to the development of groundbreaking medical devices.
