    We are looking for talented professionals to join our team at University of Maryland Medical Center - Midtown Campus.     Main Function: Under indirect supervision performs quality diagnostic radiographic procedures utilizing the concepts and principles of radiation protection/safety. Coordinates daily work schedule and activities according to department need. Operates sophisticated Radiographic, Fluoroscopic and portable imaging equipment according to protocol and procedure. Prepares and administers oral and IV contrast media according to protocol.

    Duties and Responsibilities :

    • Performs a variety of diagnostic radiographic procedures to ensure the quality and continuity of patient care. Ensures completion of all work assignments prior to end of shift to assist with reduced length of stay initiatives.
    • Identifies each patient and reviews each patient’s requisition for consistency of examination ordered with clinical diagnosis and all demographic information.
    • Records pertinent data in PACS at all times.
    • Assesses patient condition, ensures patient safety through proper radiation safety practices and proper positioning devices.
    • Reviews each examination for technical accuracy, presents completed examination to a radiologist and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.
    • Processes all patients through the system immediately upon completion of the exam to ensure proper documentation and billing information. Ensures exams are put into taken status immediately

    Qualifications

    What You Need to Be Successful:

    EDUCATION:

    • Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology School.
    • Registered by the ARRT and licensed by the state of Maryland.

    EXPERIENCE: Up to one (1) year experience following graduation from an approved school.

    • Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology School.
    • Registered by the ARRT and licensed by the state of Maryland.
    • Up to two (2) years radiology and two (6) months operating room experience following graduation from an approved school.

    IV. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Demonstrates competence & ability to use equipment in a safe and proper manner.

    V. Patient Safety

    Ensures patient safety in the performance of job functions and through participation in hospital, department or unit patient safety initiatives.

    • Takes action to correct observed risks to patient safety.
    • Reports adverse events and near misses to appropriate management authority.
    • Implements policies, procedure, and standards consistently in the performance of assigned duties.
    • Develops effective working relationships and maintains good communication with other team members.
    • Identifies possible risks in processes, procedures, devices and communicates the same to those in charge.

    Additional Information

    Monday-Sunday Nights as Needed. 10:30pm-7:00am
