    Respite Housing Specialist

    We are seeking a Respite Housing Specialist for our Norwood based program!

    As a member of the Respite team, the Respite Housing Specialist will work as a member of Persons’ Team having primary responsibility for supporting on-site and Mobile Respite Persons in attaining and keeping stable, secure housing. Ideal candidates will have a knowledge of housing systems, vouchers, and subsidies and will be responsible for educating staff and Persons using Respite services about tenancy issues, housing rights, and resources. They will provide a single point of contact for developing relationships with landlords, housing authorities, and DMH Area housing staff, to foster communication and provide advocacy.

    The Respite Housing Specialist assists Persons with applying for and attaining subsidies, and work with Persons to secure housing that meets their needs and will guide the Person in learning the skills necessary to maintain community housing. Additionally, this position will support on-site Respite Persons in understanding, managing and self-administering medications consistent with agency MAP policies and procedures.

    The Respite Housing Specialist will also collaborate with our Adult Community Clinical Services team: working together with Group Living Environment (GLE) House Managers, GLE Directors, ACCS Clinicians, and ACCS management to help facilitate and nurture a culture of movement and collaborative support of Persons.

    Schedule: 40 hours, Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm OR 9am to 5pm

    Pay Rate: $27.23/hourly

    Required Experience

    • High school diploma with 2 years related experience; Bachelor's preferred
    • Housing advocacy experience preferred
    • Experience with substance use, mental illness and co-occurring clients preferred.
    • Valid driver's license and dependable vehicle
