    We are searching for the best talent for our Surgical Robotics Software Intern, based in Santa Clara, CA.
    You will be:

    • Applying software design principles and robotics research experience to develop and implement robotics algorithms in software for the MONARCH system
    • Translating system requirements and procedure workflow into configurable and reusable software implementations of mathematical algorithms
    • Implementing robotics and control algorithms to achieve desired robotic motions and tasks.
    • Working on sophisticated software platform with a large code base
    • Building versatile, modular, and real-time capable software infrastructure for robotic functionality independent of a specific task and hardware.
    • Attending design reviews and discussions, discussing other developers' work, reviewing code changes and identifying potential improvements to new design proposals.
    • Prototyping and developing in scripting languages such as Python
    • Responsible for the development on the existing designs as well as brainstorming improvements and new features.
    • Developing detailed software documentation using documentation tools following software documentation standard methodologies
  • Qualifications

    Education:

    • Enrollment in an Undergraduate, Master’s or PhD graduate Engineering or Physics program, or equivalent.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with OO and strongly typed programming languages, preferably C++
    • Experience with scripting languages, preferably Python
    • Fundamental understanding of robotics principles and modeling (e.g. Robot Kinematics, manipulability, reachability, C-space)
    • Proactivity and motivation

    The anticipated base pay for this position for candidates in a Robotics discipline is Sophomore $31.00/hr, Junior $34.50/hr, Senior $38.00/hr, Masters $45.00/hr, PhD $59.00/hr.

    This position is ineligible for severance.
