Job Description:
Johnson & Johnson is currently seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to join our MAKE Asset Management Organization located in US Large Molecule Drug Substance Site located in Wilson, North Carolina. This role will support a new site startup, as such it may require periods of heightened travel to support these activities. This travel would be during the site ramp up period and dependent on functional needs and project timelines (in some cases frequent travel and or short terms stays with vendors, sister companies, partners).
The MAM (MAKE Asset Management) organization operates as one integrated team in the delivery of Engineering, Maintenance and Execution Systems solutions. We operate in a standard, coordinated and consistent manner in support of the current and future requirements of our Manufacturing and Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) and in partnership with key internal/external network.
While this role will ultimately support the site operations located in Wilson NC, this role will also be required to support the project phase across both design & construction. For the project design phase, the role will require you to be present with our design teams in the Greater Philadelphia region up to 20%. Once the design phase is completed, this role will support the construction and operational start-up of the site. For this, you will be required to be on site in Wilson, NC. Based on your current location the hiring team will work with you to determine travel and relocation arrangements. In steady state, we expect travel to be 10%.

Execution Systems (ES) is a dedicated team of Automation professionals with various technical expertise, responsible for the implementation, validation, qualification, and maintenance of the ISA-95 level 1 and 2 manufacturing automated systems and applicable interfaces and level 3 recipe content for the manufacturing facility. Ensure that automated systems are fit for intended use and follow applicable regulatory requirements (e.g. cG(a)MP) and company manufacturing standards throughout the entire system life cycle.
The Senior Automation Engineer (Infrastructure/Integration Lead) collaborates with the Sr. Execution system Manager and is responsible for leading and taking ownership of OT topics such as overall server/client infrastructure readiness for PAS & BAS, OT network infrastructure including Cisco Switches management, vLAN design and assignment for the virtualized network, cybersecurity topic. Be the key interface to IT network team and ensure integration of IT system to the OT network such as PowerBI, Tableau, SAP CMMS. Responsibilities include Subject Matter Expertise (SME) on OSI PI design, management and administration.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and owns the secure implementation and management of OT infrastructure at Wilson, NC site. Such as virtualized environment management, ensuring automation servers and HMI communication.
Defines and overseas correct execution of S95 level 1 & 2 network architecture
Acts as main point of contact between global Digital operation technology systems team and site team, ensuring global standards are applied
Ensure effective deployment and integration of OT systems within the corporate IT network in accordance with global standards.
Be the main point of contact regarding IT/OT integration
Oversee and owns the management of OT system lifecycle, ensuring cybersecurity standards are in accordance with global standards
Subject Matter Expertise (SME) on OSI PI management and administration. Ensuring interfaces to process automation system, MES & building automation system
Performs and leads risk assessment in case of system upgrades
Support any regulatory audits regarding OT systems and support compliance efforts

Required:
A minimum 5 years of related experience
Advanced experience in OT system design and execution of digitalization projects.
Advanced knowledge in virtualized system (VMs) , virtualized network (vLAN), and cybersecurity guidelines within the OT network.
Advanced experience in designing & management of OSI PI system and integrating it with other application like Emerson DeltaV, PAS-X MES, Honeywell BAS and Siemens PLC.
Hands-on experience with management & design of network switches in the OT network (Cisco preferred).
Strong communication and organizational skills, communicating requirements with vendors & suppliers.
Project management skills, including planning, budgeting and tracking OT work packages.
Knowledge of cGMP’s for Maintenance in an FDA regulated environment.
Preferred:
Strong Knowledge and network design.
Knowledge and understanding how DeltaV DCS, PAS-X MES and PLC systems work and interact with PI.
Experience in green or brown field GMP MFG facility start-up including process systems, automation, utilities, facilities, and operations.
Understanding and configuration of domain controllers & active directories.
