    The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for the cost accounting functions of the assigned affiliates within GS PR, including but not limited to: Owning the annual standard costing process for J&J Medical Caribbean, complete interim and annual inventory standard costing, build strong partnerships with business unit financial leadership, franchise and supply planning, project management and regional master data, create analytics using costing data and applying technology to analyze year over year cost moves as well as automation of master data completion, prepare or analyze quarterly and monthly reserves such as Slob reserve, Full absorption, Expired products, lower of cost or market, among others. Ensure compliance with J&J Worldwide procedures, SOX guidelines, record retention, government statutory and legal requirements as it pertains to their areas of responsibilities. Responsible for driving and leading operational improvements initiatives, as requested.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Properly register standard cost on new products
    • Responsible for the preparation of journal entries and posting in the general ledger.
    • Analyze and perform reconciliation of Trial Balance accounts, make reclassification and/or correction(s), clean reconciling items and explain variances as needed.
    • Maintain effective communication with Finance BU Business Partner, Regional Finance, and Master Data teams.
    • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley activities, record retention policies and World-Wide Procedures within the area of responsibility. Keep updated with current version of policies and procedures that regulate these areas.
    • Support annual external/internal audits as required.
    • Responsible for other finance/accounting duties and special projects, as assigned

    Qualifications:

    Education:

    • A minimum of a Bachelor’ degree in the Accounting or Finance field is required.
    • CPA, CMA or other financial certifications preferred.

    Experience and Skills:

    Required:

    • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Finance or Accounting operations is required.
    • Experience in the full accounting cycle, preferably in the area of commercial operations.
    • Advanced digital literacy and use of software application(s) including MS Office are required; Knowledge in SAP is required.
    • This role is located in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico and may require up to 10% travel.
    • Fully Bilingual (English & Spanish, oral and written) is required.

    Preferred:

    • Process oriented mentality. Proven ability to design new processes and document those.
    • Must possess excellent analytical skills, with the ability to work independently, influence decision making with policy and process, think creatively, challenge the status quo, and work across multiple teams.
    • Must work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and be able to recommend and implement improvements in execution.
    • Available to work extended hours. Provide on call support after working hours when required.
