We are looking for an innovative, proactive Senior Business Intelligence Analyst (w/m/d) to develop and maintain advanced Power BI solutions within the Shockwave Medical business unit, now part of Johnson & Johnson MedTech. This role directly supports global stakeholders across various departments, ensuring data-driven insights and optimized performance.
Essential Job Functions
Data Modeling: Build, optimize, and maintain Power BI semantic models to support advanced analytics and reporting.
Report Development: Develop both standard and paginated reports, managing distribution through the Power BI service platform.
Data Integration & Quality: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data integration and uphold data quality standards (SQL proficiency is essential; Snowflake experience is a plus).
Global Support & Training: Provide BI services worldwide, adapting solutions for localized requirements and training end-users on best practices.
Performance & Continuous Improvement: Monitor and enhance reporting performance, staying abreast of new Power BI features and driving ongoing improvements.
Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation for data models and reports to ensure ease of use and maintenance.
Technical Consultation: Act as the go-to technical expert on Power BI within the Business Intelligence & Analytics department, providing guidance and best practices.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of proven experience with Power BI (semantic modeling, DAX, M language) and robust knowledge of data warehousing & ETL processes.
Strong SQL skills; experience with Snowflake, Python and advanced visuals like Zebra BI, GitHub or Spark , is a plus.
Proactive and self-directed, with the capacity to work under minimal supervision and excel in fast-paced, high-pressure settings.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to deliver actionable insights.
Highly organized with superior time management skills; able to manage multiple, shifting priorities effectively.
Excellent communication (English fluency) and collaboration skills in a global, cross-functional environment.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business, or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
Background in life sciences, pharmaceutical, medical devices, or biotech is beneficial.
The anticipated salary range for this position is 105,000.00 - 189,000.00
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
