Intake & Assessment Specialist - FISS St. Charles Youth & Family Services 33 reviews - Milwaukee, WI General Summary: The Family Intervention & Support Services (FISS) is a short-term voluntary program that utilizes a strength based and family focused approach. The FISS intake & assessment specialist conducts a thorough in person assessment with the family for the purpose of providing a referral to the most appropriate source that can assist with their concerns. Families living in Milwaukee County with at risk youth between the ages of 12 up to18 years old can be referred to the FISS program. * Establish and maintain current computerized and manual systems to track intake and referral of family. * Conduct initial assessment with the client and family and write up formal report. * Consult with Supervisory staff to determine most appropriate referral source for family. * Coordinate or recommend in-home services, community resources & informal supports. * Will receive cross training in case management to assist when needed. Minimum Knowledge and Skills: * Bilingual preferably Spanish * Bachelors Degree in Social Work or related Human Service field. * Minimum of 1-year child welfare experience. * Demonstrated proficiency in using a Computer including experience in MS Office applications i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook. Ability to type 35 W.P.M. * Proficient verbal communication and formal report writing. * Familiar with State of Wisconsin child abuse/neglect statutes preferred. * Knowledge of methods of evaluation, treatment and ability to interpret written results. * Attention to detail and good organization skills. * Valid Wisconsin Drivers License and liability insurance and a dependable vehicle. Working Conditions: * Local travel as required fulfilling essential functions of the position.
