General Duties:

The Staff Pharmacist shall perform clinical, distributive, supervisory, and educational functions necessary to support the departmental functions under the guidance of the Director of Pharmacy. He/she uses critical thinking skills and exercises independent decision-making as needed for the provision of safe and rational medication therapy. In addition, the Pharmacist works to uphold all department-related policies and procedures with close attention to medication management duties dictated by the Joint Commission. Furthermore, he/she understands and exemplifies excellent customer service, professionalism and positive attitude.

** Position Qualifications:**

Required:

1. Pharm.D. degree from accredited university (may consider RPh with extensive hospital experience)
2. Possess a valid CA pharmacist's license (maintain current at all times)
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
4. Current American Heart Association CPR or within 30 days of hire (maintain current at all times)
5. ** Must be available to work full-time Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 12-hour shifts**

Preferred:

1. Office (Word, Excel, PPT) experience
2. Familiarity with Meditech
3. Familiarity with Pyxis
