  • Responsibilities

    STAMFORD HEALTH is currently seeking ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICE AIDES to join our staff. This is a PART-TIME 15 HOURS A WEEK  position in which we're looking for individuals flexible to work DAY (7:30AM-3:30PM), EVENING (3:30PM - 11:30PM), NIGHTS (11:30PM-7:30AM) WORKING EVERY OTHER WEEKEND AND FLEXIBILITY TO WORK HOLIDAYS position.  BASED ON THE SCHEDULE FLEXIBILITY AND OVERALL PERFORMANCE THIS PER DIEM CAN BE CHANGED TO A PART TIME OR FULL TIME POSITION. 

     

    An ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES AIDE cleans and services building areas; moves furniture, equipment and supplies in and around hospital departments; and performs a variety of environmental services’ duties to maintain the hospital in a neat, orderly and sanitary condition.

     

     

     

    Required Skills


    • Cleans assigned areas by washing furnishings, windows, tile, fixtures, equipment and floors; vacuums, dusts and polishes specified areas and/or furnishings; and Sanitizes and disinfects bathroom areas.
    • Gathers and transports refuse from assigned areas to appropriate disposal location.
    • Reports needed repairs/alterations or situations requiring follow up attention to department supervisor as they occur.
    • Selects and prepares cleaning materials and supplies for transport to work area at the beginning of the shift.
    • Complies with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation, asbestos, and other hazardous substances.

     

    Required Experience

    • High School diploma or GED required and relevant cleaning experience.  
    • Ability to read, write and understand instructions in English.
    • Three months on the job or previous industrial, commercial or domestic cleaning experiences.
