Operates high speed laser printers, high speed impact printers and all associated print equipment, utilizing resources to perform large-volume print tasks on a multi-agency platform. Reviews the 24 hours master schedule to determine priority of jobs to be processed. Investigates printing errors and contacts service and other appropriate personnel for the more complex problems. Maintains records, inventory logs and reports. Stocks inventory, lifting up to 60 pounds, and moves large palettes using manual jack. Maintains system equipment. Assists DP Specialist in the backup and restore of the Xerox high speed laser printing system libraries. Minimum Requirements: Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of High School, supplemented by one year of related data processing experience. Qualifying state employees in the employee Upward Mobility Program may complete combinations of specific proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiency in lieu of the stated requirements for this classification. A working knowledge of TSO and ISPF knowledge preferred. Requires elementary knowledge of job submission, operation monitoring and production procedures. Requires ability to follow complex oral and written instructions. An elementary knowledge of online view and output distribution system software (such as but not limited to Mobius) is preferred. The ability to obtain an elementary knowledge of commands and procedures to operate high speed laser and impact printing systems and to perform back up and restores of the high speed laser printing systems according to established procedures is preferred. Requires ability to lift 60 pounds and operate a manual jack to move palettes weighing approximately 2000 pounds.
